What a lovely sight to wake up to this morning - again!

Hi everyone

I hope you all had a lovely holiday break!
This term in Room 13 we have a new Year 3 Basic Facts Programme. Information regarding this has been glued into your child's Home and School Book.
If you have any questions about the programme please come and see me.

Thank you to those parents who have already offered to help with our Term 3 inquiry topic 'Envadola'. I look forward to working with you this term and I will be in touch closer to the time regarding this.

Earthquake Help Site for Kids

Hi there

I have added a new link under 'Resources for Parents'.
This is a site for children and parents to use together. It helps children to understand their experiences and develop coping strategies in relation to the recent earthquakes.

Earthquake Update - 16 June 2011

Hi there

School will be opening from tomorrow - Friday 17 June.
Could you please ensure your child brings their own drink bottle to school with clean water in it. Our water tanker has been refilled but I am unsure if this still needs to be boiled or not.
Our sewerage system is currently working, however we do have portaloos as back up should we need them.

School will be closed on Wednesday 15 June due to no water or working sewerage systems.
I hope you are all safe and well. I will update the learning blog with any new information I find out.

Update on school opening hours for Week 8

Just a reminder that the following hours will apply for this week (21-25 March 2011).
Monday: 9.00-12.30
Tuesday: 9.00-12.30
Wednesday: 9.00-3.00
Thursday: 9.00-3.00
Friday: 9.00-3.00

School opening hours 15-17 March

Avondale School will be open from 9.00-10.30 on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday this week. Friday we are closed due to the Christchurch Earthquake Memorial Day. We will keep you informed about what is happening next week.
